"YOU WILL NOT DIE" (Genesis 3:4)
Satan confuses man attributing to him the properties that are solely divine. However, God "Who only has immortality" (1 Timothy 6:16) will give it as a gift only to "them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality". (Romans 2:7).
Should a man have innate immortality, he would lose his freedom of choice, for he could not choose between life and death. Sin would be immortalized. However, the freedom we are given by God is complete freedom because God's love for us is a complete one (Deutoronomy 30:19-20).
How do we choose between eternal life and eternal death?
Choosing love we choose a principle which makes sense to exist for eternity because the principle of love is a predicted principle of survival for all created by God. Choosing the sin we choose death. "The soul that sinneth, it shall die." (Ezekiel 18:20) God has not any reason to immortalize a sinful sample of life, either in paradise or in hell. "And there shall be no more curse." (Revelation 22:3) Unrighteous will burn like chaff (Isaiah 5:24. John 15:6). It will melt like wax (Psalm 68:2). Fire will devour them (Revelation 20:9). "And they shall be as though they had not been." (Obadiah 1:16) The God's promise is: "Very truly, I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes Him Who sent me has eternal life, and does not come under judgement, but has passed from death to life."(John 5:24)
